As we dive into fall clean-up, it's important to remember that open burning is regulated to keep our air clean and safe. Before you start burning, check out the Utah Department of Air Qualityā€™s guidelines and regulations to ensure you're burning responsibly this season.

šŸ Obtain a Burn Permit - Have on accessible (printed or digitally)

šŸ”„ Check the airshed index (500+, you are airshed 5).

šŸ Burn must be attended by a responsible adult (18+) at all times.

šŸ”„ NO waste materials.

šŸ Burn in small piles.

šŸ”„ Burn must be extinguished before dark.

šŸ Keep burn 50 feet from any structure.

šŸ”„ Have a method of extinguishment readily available.
